Our grand opening weekend is set to be more epic than a T-Rex’s appetite. Here’s the lowdown on our Jurassic-sized celebration:
Friday, July 26th – Ribbon Cutting Ceremony (11 AM) Excavate our new space, munch on some herbivore-friendly snacks, and meet the pack of volunteers who’ve helped bring this vision to life.
Saturday, July 27th – GRAND OPENING DAY (11 AM – 5 PM) The main event! Our full array of attractions will be open:
- The Button Shoppe (for all your pinback needs)
- Free art station (unleash your inner creative beast)
- Gift shoppe (filled with treasures that’ll make you roar with joy)
Plus, leave your mark on our community paint-by-number mural and participate in our button art-project fundraiser. Pictured below is Jared, Thayer, and Nathanial getting the start of our community mural ready, you’ll have to come see for yourself the full piece. It’s gonna be dino-mite!
Bonus: The On Any Sundae Ice Cream Truck will be parked outside from 12-3 PM. $1 from every ice cream sale goes to Radness Ensues. (Ice Age treats, anyone?)
Sunday, July 28th – Make Some Noise (11 AM – 9 PM)
- 11 AM – 4 PM: Jam session extraordinaire. Bring the kids and make some earth-shaking sounds on our instruments. (Button Shoppe open too, but fair warning – it’ll be louder than a Pterodactyl screech!)
- 4 PM – 5 PM: Community discussion. Help us shape the future of our Music Focused Sundays.
- 6 PM – 9 PM: Fundraising show. Suggested donation $15, but we won’t turn anyone away. Limited to 45 spots, so arrive early like you’re racing a Velociraptor!
Throughout the weekend, we’re running a fundraising button mosaic art piece and fundraising raffle that’s more exciting than finding a mosquito in amber. Prizes include parties at Salem’s Own Splatter Box, some fossil-grade collectibles like unopened Topps cards from the original 1992 Jurassic Park, and MOAR!
Winners will be announced live on our Instagram after Sunday’s show. You don’t need to be present to win, but make sure you’re following us to catch the action.
